By making a donation today, you can help save lives. Please read about an inspiring trauma patient, and consider contributing through one of the following opportunities—a contribution in any amount helps!
DONATE to our Stop the Bleeding Campaign
Hemorrhage, or massive bleeding, is the primary cause of death for people who have sustained a traumatic injury. While hemorrhage control is clearly an emergency measure that could save lives, there is very little funding available for researchers to develop effective treatments. Your donation to this campaign, in any amount, will be added to federal and private funds and allocated to hemorrhage-related studies, selected through NTI’s rigorous peer-review process for their high potential for near-term results.
SUPPORT General Trauma Research
Traumatic injury kills four times more people than breast cancer, yet there is very little funding available for trauma researchers to develop effective new emergency treatments that will save lives. To put the lack of funding into perspective, for every $3.51 in federal research dollars spent on HIV research, $1.65 is spent on cancer and just 10 cents on trauma (according to the Centers for Disease Control). Every dollar counts!
CONTRIBUTE to our Annual Fund
Your unrestricted tax-deductible donation to the NTI Annual Fund enables us to serve our mission to reduce injury, death and disability. Your gift will help us run programs that support our research agenda and help us reach our ultimate goal to improve outcomes from traumatic injury.
JOIN our Research Society
Make a contribution of $1,000 or more to become a part of our Research Society, providing direct support to NTI’s research initiatives. Members of the Research Society will be invited to a special dinner where top trauma researchers and physicians will share details of the exciting progress they are making in trauma care.
MAKE a Memorial or Honor Gift
A gift in memory or in honor of a loved one is a meaningful way to express your appreciation and support. Celebrate birthdays and anniversaries with a gift in honor of a special person, or consider honoring a physician who made a difference in your life. Express your sympathy with a personal remembrance through a memorial gift that honors a deceased friend, relative or colleague.
The National Trauma Institute will send a meaningful acknowledgment to the honored individual or family of the deceased. All gift amounts are confidential unless otherwise requested.
Support the Annual Trauma Symposium
The Annual Trauma Symposium offers trauma care providers the means to update their knowledge of newly introduced techniques and technology to improve the care of trauma victims. Gifts to the Symposium are very important and support our efforts to provide the highest quality presenters from around the world. Click here to find out about our various Symposium Sponsorship Opportunities.
Name an NTI Fund
Contributions of $10,000 or more are very important to NTI’s major research initiatives. These gifts are restricted to specific project areas, and the donor has the honor of naming the fund. This can also be another vehicle for making an honorary gift. To learn more about how to name a fund, make a special tribute gift or make a planned gift, please contact Sharon Smith, Executive Director, at (210) 233-6162 ext. 205 .
