Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for Clinical or Translational Trauma Research

Do not submit the same proposal to multiple funding opportunities

RFP: NTI-ICU-08
The National Trauma Institute is currently accepting proposals for clinical or translational research. Multicenter, prospective or observational clinical or translational research studies relating to one or more of the following research areas will be given priority. Proposals must incorporate ICU treatment or outcomes.

    Hemorrhage control
    Resuscitation
    Control of shock
    Coagulopathy
    Burn care and treatment
    Elimination of hospital acquired infection in the ICU
    Airway and ventilation management
    Development of technology
    Disaster preparedness

Successful applicants may receive up to $300,000. A three-page pre-proposal must be submitted, and submission of full proposals will be by invitation only.  

The deadline for submission of pre-proposals for NTI-ICU-08 has passed.

Opening Session of Annual Trauma Symposium Focuses
on Innovations in Mass
Casualty Response

Citing both research-based evidence and anecdotal
evidence from the field, LtCol Todd Rasmussen, Director of Wartime Vascular Research at Wilford Hall Medical Center, discussed the successful use of innovative vascular shunts in limb repair operations. Rasmussen’s presentation was one of several related to the medical response to mass casualty events in both military and civilian settings
